I am so honored to have been invited to attend the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Polar Lights International Film Festival. I am scheduled to head to Greece this Sunday heading on to St. Petersburg, Russia from there, but it looks like the hurricane has forced a snag in my plans; the contractor who processes Russian visas on behalf of the Russian consulate has my passport (in order to process the visa) and it was due for pickup tomorrow. Now, with Hurricane Sandy having flooded lower Manhattan (where their company was located) and having shut down public transit for days, I am not sure if I will be able to get my passport in time to leave for Greece. Fingers crossed, but very worried. I have been looking forward to this for a long, long time. Dreamed of visiting these places for years… and now? Still hoping…
UPDATE: NOVEMBER 1, 2012
After a crazy day navigating a makeshift public transportation system in post-hurricane NYC, I was able to get my hands on my passport from the Russian Consulate which included an approved Russian visa. It feels like a miracle, but I am on my way to Greece and Russia on Sunday. Thrilled!

Crossing my fingers for you, Tom!
